The loopback surface is first raised and then worked to entangle the fibers, creating fine pilling and softly undulating irregularities throughout. This process gives the fabric a plush volume and uneven texture, lending the garment a depth and presence distinct from conventional sweatshirt jersey. In contrast, the interior exposes the smooth face normally used as the outer surface, providing a clean, comfortable feel against the skin. A small percentage of polyurethane introduces controlled stretch and recovery, helping prevent bagging at the knees while maintaining the integrity of the silhouette. The concept of inversion is extended beyond the fabric itself and into the garment’s construction. Side-seam allowances, normally concealed inside the garment, are intentionally exposed on the exterior to form a continuous graphic line along each leg. By bringing hidden elements of construction to the surface, the design leaves visible traces of how the garment is made—an approach that echoes the idea of “remnants” and traces central to the 27SS collection, “Remnant -光跡-.” Pockets are integrated directly into these exposed seams, while side slits at the hem transform the construction itself into functional detailing. The silhouette is sculpted through three-dimensional pattern cutting, with a precise center pintuck running down the front of each leg.
